Retro Bungalow

Our Location

We’re in Hoghton, a small village situated between Preston and Blackburn, which is a perfect central location for exploring Lancashire and the surrounding counties.

Not only are we within 10 minutes of the M6, M61 & M65 motorways, but in our rural location there’s lots of interesting country walks without needing a car, incorporating fields, bridle paths, canal paths, woodlands, viaduct, aquaduct, weirs, rivers and pubs! We’ve plenty of printed maps to give you.

The three rings on the map highlight a 5mile radius, 12 mile and 25 mile radius

If you fancy a short journey out in the car, then within a 5 mile radius we’ve Brockholes Nature Reserve, the towns of Preston, Blackburn and Chorley, which have a good choice of different museums to visit including Preston Ribble Steam Museum, British Leyland Commercial Vehicle Museum, Ribchester Roman Museum and Lancashire Infantry Museum. There’s three historic houses in close proximity, Hoghton Tower, Samlesbury Hall & Astley Hall that are open for guided tours and special events throughout the year.

Within a 12 mile radius it’s a walkers and cyclists paradise. There’s Rivington Fell, Longridge Fell, the Ribble Valley, Forest of Bowland and the Tolkein Trail.

Within a 25 mile radius inland to the east is Pendle Hill, renowned for the Lancashire Witches. To the west is the Fylde Coast where you’ll find Lytham, St Annes, Blackpool & Morecambe, (where ‘Eden Centre North’ is planning to open in 2025!) To the south is Liverpool & Manchester and to the north is Lancaster.

It only takes an hour, and after a lovely scenic drive you can be in the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales.
