We can accommodate up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms, either 1 twin and 1 double or 1 super-kingsize and 1 double.

The Bedrooms

If you’re coming with a partner, then you may find it difficult to chose from either sleeping in the classy ‘St Michaels’ (M&S to those not familiar) funkily furnished psychedelic purple 'ish' bedroom, or the more ‘eye calming’ harvest gold themed bedroom. But not too eye calming as there’s plenty of lurid orange to liven it up. When you do eventually go to bed, don’t expect to find a TV in the bedroom, however you can look forward to the entertainment provided by a ‘Goblin Teasmade’ when it wakes you up in the morning! And maybe breakfast in bed, served through the handy original 70’s hatch direct from the kitchen.

The Kitchen

Now to describe the kitchen, it’s not decorated in a 70’s garish orange, and it’s certainly not an earthy brown, but it has got very shiny marine blue/turquoise genuine Hygena kitchen units, complemented by very 70’s walls and plenty of melamine, chrome and funky throwback domestic accessories to reminisce over!

Off the kitchen is a large mid century style conservatory which is ideal for muddy boots, bicycles or for sitting in during the summer and reading. We’ve plenty of far out books, magazines and annuals for you to immerse yourselves in, just as a taster there’s ‘Do it Yourself’ ‘Practical Householder’ ‘Speedway Star’ ‘Custom Car’, ‘Woman’ ‘She’ ‘Family Circle’ and lots more. There’s also a lovely patio with garden furniture, parasol and deckchairs to catch the evening sun.

The Lounge

Now... onto the family lounge, tasteful 70’s and comfortable. With an original York stone fireplace, large bay window and classic mid century teak furniture. This is the main room of the house where friends and family were more connected, in a time before social media. They talked to each other and played board games. We have plenty of board games for you! This was a decade defined by music. We have lots of 70s LPs and a record player for you! The TV was watched by all the family sitting together, they watched appropriate programmes and what are now considered as ‘not so appropriate’. We have lots of those appropriate and not so appropriate 70s comedy programmes on DVDs for you to enjoy!

The Bathroom

And finally, no 70’s home would be complete without a ‘statement bathroom’. We can assure you, you will not be disappointed. We’ll leave you to find out for yourselves!

Extra Bits of Important Info

Our Retro Bungalow is situated in a rural location at Ricroft Nurseries off Quaker Brook Lane in Hoghton, where our private driveway provides you with off road parking. There is central heating throughout and we provide bed linen and towels. We live on site which means that we are always available, both to welcome you on arrival and here for you during your stay should you need us.

So, if you would like to come and reminisce about what mattered to us in the 70’s, what songs we sang and danced to, what we read about, what kept us entertained and how we managed to live with every tone of brown, beige, green, orange and mustard, then take a step back with us and immerse yourself in a decade that still feels like it only happened yesterday. The decade of the Ford Cortina, Suzi Quatro, the Raleigh Chopper, Starsky and Hutch, the Magic Roundabout, Cheese Fondue, the Wombles, and Fungus the Bogeyman!

And we’ve never started to talk about the fashion! Yes, there is nice selection of clothes for you to try on too!
